Endoca Company History

Founded in 2006, Endoca has been around substantially longer than many CBD brands. In fact, the company claims it was the first website to sell CBD online.

Endoca’s founder, Henry Vincenty, got his start with cannabis-based medicine back in college. While studying biotechnology and genetics, he travelled to Africa to help people suffering from AIDS. During this time, he saw first-hand how prescription drugs can solve some problematic symptoms, while creating others. Soon after, he learned about the medicinal potential of cannabis, and opened his own free clinic in Denmark. It was there that Endoca was born, named after the endocannabinoid system it seeks to benefit.

Today the company focuses on making CBD oil available worldwide, and developing innovative products that help people reunite with nature, by using plant-based products made from hemp.

Endoca is also devoted to promoting sustainability in other aspects of their business, through education and philanthropy. The website is full of blogs and resource articles, which cover the basics of using CBD to the latest industry trends in plant-based wellness. The Endoca Foundation provides financial assistance to families with children who have medical conditions that could benefit from CBD oil, along with funding projects like their Endoca Forest School. The school is a pilot project following a British curriculum in a nature-based environment.

Endoca’s U.S. headquarters are located in Spokane Valley, Washington, and their European headquarters are based in the Netherlands. The company ships European orders out of their Germany warehouse, with a separate California facility for their U.S. orders.

Hemp Farming and Sourcing Practices

Endoca is a true seed-to-shelf operation (like Ananda Hemp and PlusCBD Oil), meaning that Endoca staff are involved at every stage of producing their CBD oils—from farming and extraction all the way to testing and distribution.

Like most seed-to-shelf operations, Endoca places a serious focus on quality control. All of their hemp is 100% certified organic and non-GMO. The hemp is grown on 2,000 acres of farmland in Denmark, a country known for its low air pollution. The company maintains GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) compliance, speaking to the standards of their manufacturing and production processes.

Once their hemp is ready to be harvested, Endoca staff screens each batch, before submitting it to laboratory testing to ensure it’s free of toxins and any contaminants. Endoca uses CO2 extraction to extract their CBD oils from the hemp plants. This method is considered the safest and most efficient method for extracting CBD from hemp.

Next, the oils are prepared for production and tested for safety and potency. All other added ingredients in their CBD oils are also organic, just like their hemp. Throughout this process, waste is converted into biogas where possible, and leftover product into cattle food.

Endoca Product Selection

Endoca offers a varied selection of tinctures, capsules, skincare, and other, more unique products, like suppositories and chewing gum. All of their products are broad-spectrum, containing a high concentration of CBD, along with other cannabinoids (CBC, CBG, CBN), terpenes (myrcene, limonene, and others), and other natural elements from the hemp plant, like flavonoids, amino acids, and vitamins.

For maximum shelf life, Endoca products should be stored in a cool, dry place. The tinctures and suppositories should be kept in the refrigerator.

CBD Tinctures

Endoca offers CBD tincture drops in two formulas.

Their CBD Oils are traditional CBD tinctures. These 10ml bottles contain either 300mg or 1500mg of CBD in a hemp seed oil base (rich in omega-3 and -6 fatty acids, and vitamin E). With no added ingredients, these are vegan, gluten-free, organic and non-GMO.

Endoca also sells “Raw” versions of their oils, which are priced the same. These contain a CBD + CBDA blend. CBDA (or cannabolic-acid) is essentially the chemical precursor to CBD. It turns into CBD when the extract gets heated through decarboxylation. Some research suggests there may be unique therapeutic benefits to CBDA, as an anti-inflammatory, antiemetic, and potentially even anti-cancer agent. However, it’s nowhere near the wealth of research demonstrating the multiple health benefits of CBD.

The key difference between these two formulas is that the Raw versions skip the decarboxylation step, so more of the CBDA remains—meaning less has been converted into CBD. This makes them a better fit for those looking to incorporate CBD into a raw food lifestyle, as more of the plant material has been preserved (even though it means they may enjoy less of the therapeutic benefits of CBD). If you’re looking for symptomatic relief, the CBD oil is probably a better choice. But, if you’re looking for general wellness or a health food supplement, go with the Raw formula.

Whichever formula you choose, these oils are designed to be taken sublingually, ideally on an empty stomach. Both are available in two strengths: 300mg and 1500mg.  The 300mg versions provide 1mg of CBD (or CBD + CBDA) per drop, while the 1500mg versions provide 5mg per drop.

CBD Capsules

Endoca uses the same two formulas in their CBD capsules. CBD capsules can be a great option for those who don’t like the natural taste of hemp, or simply want an easy way to remember to take their CBD along with their daily vitamin.

These 100% organic capsules contain either 10mg or 50mg of CBD (or CBD + CBDA, in the case of the RAW version), and come in a 30-count bottle. The 10mg RAW capsules are also available in a 120-count bottle. Endoca does not specify the other ingredients included to form the capsule, but states that they are kosher, vegan, gluten-free, and non-GMO.

CBD Skincare

Endoca offers three CBD skincare products, all made from natural and organic ingredients. Better yet, they’re all food-grade, so you could even eat them if you want—although your skin probably won’t enjoy the benefits that way.

  • Their CBD Salve packs 750mg of CBD into a 1oz container, along with hemp seed oil, coconut oil, beeswax, lemon peel oil, vanilla, and vitamin E. Endoca recommends using the salve for topical relief on dry, broken, or rashy skin for natural hydration and antioxidant relief.
  • Their CBD Body Butter is designed for all-over moisturizing relief, thanks to its larger 3.38oz container. Available in medium or high strengths (300mg vs. 1500mg), so you can decide whether your skin requires a bit more help staying smooth and hydrated. Additional ingredients include shea butter, palm oil, cocoa seed butter, hemp seed oil, coconut oil, root starch, vanilla, beeswax, and vitamin E.
  • Their CBD Lip Balm combines 20mg of CBD with organic hemp oil, beeswax, coconut oil, vitamin E, vanilla extract, limonene, and honey for moisturized lips with a light flavor.

CBD Extracts

Endoca also offers CBD paste extracts. CBD extracts can be a good choice for those who want the ultimate whole-plant experience.

After CO2 extraction, traditional CBD oils undergo additional filtration in order to refine them for inclusion in tinctures and other CBD products. CBD extracts, on the other hand, entirely skip that process. This leaves them with a thicker, waxy texture contains more of the original plant material.

Available in 2000mg and 3000mg strengths, the CBD paste extracts are Endoca’s most potent products:

  • The 2000mg Raw Hemp Oil Paste Extract contains 2000mg of CBD + CBDA, making it a healthy supplement for those on raw food diets.
  • The 2000mg Hemp Oil Paste Extract contains 2000mg of decarboxylated CBD, making it best for those seeking the therapeutic relief of CBD.
  • The 3000mg Raw Hemp Oil Paste Extract offers the highest potency, although it’s unclear how much will be CBD vs. CBDA. Endoca does note that this extract has a lighter color since it undergoes hot filtration (allowing more CBDA to be converted into CBD, and removing more of the plant waxes and chlorophyll). Since it has a lower chlorophyll content, this extract will have a less bitter taste than the others.

Each paste extract comes with a syringe so you can administer exact, but highly concentrated, doses of CBD. The extracts can be enjoyed sublingually, just like a CBD tincture, although a much smaller amount is required—Endoca recommends a serving size equivalent to a grain of rice.

CBD Food Supplements

Endoca also makes their RAW formula available in food supplements. Each organic supplement is rich in natural plant materials, vitamins, and minerals that support a healthy lifestyle.

  • The Raw Organic Vitamins & Minerals Powder has a berry flavor. This organic polyphenol blend contains 22% vitamin C, along with other natural ingredients to support immune system health and boost energy. These include organic wild bilberry, magnesium, and pumpkin powder. The bottle contains thirty 3g servings, which can be mixed into hot or cold drinks or smoothies.
  • The Raw Organic Hemp Protein Powder leverages the protein-rich qualities of the hemp plant seeds. This blend contains 60% protein, omega 3-6-9 fatty acids, and amino acids found in the seeds of the hemp plants. Each container includes fifteen 2tsp servings, which should be taken 30 minutes before or after exercise. The powder can be mixed into water, milk, or smoothies; sprinkled on food; or used in baking.
  • The Raw Organic Hemp Seed Oil is 100% organic, extra virgin hemp seed oil that can be sprinkled over salads or mixed in with dressings. Not to be confused with hemp oil (a common term for “CBD oil”), hemp seed oil is often used in food and skincare products, since it’s rich in protein and the healthy fatty acids known to boost heart and skin health. The 8.5oz bottle contains twenty-five 2-tsp servings.

Important Note: While all three of these products contain ingredients sourced from hemp, none of them contain CBD. CBD is extracted from the flowers and buds of the hemp plant, while these food supplements use ingredients from other parts of the plant, such as the seeds.

CBD Suppositories

One of Endoca’s more unique products are their CBD suppositories, allowing for near-instant absorption of CBD without having to taste it. The CBD gets absorbed into the bloodstream directly via the anal or vaginal passage, rather than having to travel through the digestive system first (as it must with CBD capsules or edibles).

A package includes 10 suppositories with 50mg of CBD each, and organic coconut oil. The CBD suppositories should be refrigerated and inserted with clean hands.

CBD Crystals

For those who want CBD and nothing else, Endoca offers CBD crystals. Each jar contains 500mg of pure CBD.

These crystals are CBD in its isolated form. After CO2 extraction, the CBD undergoes an additional purification process which removes all other cannabinoids—resulting in a powdery form of 99% pure CBD that contains no THC whatsoever. In order to boost the effectiveness of the isolate, Endoca retains terpenes in that remaining 1%.

CBD crystals can be used in a variety of ways, from vaping to dabing. They’re also favored by those who like to make their own CBD products or baking CBD edibles, since they can be easily added into food and contain no flavor of their own.

CBD Edibles

Endoca sells a single edible product: their CBD Chewing Gum. Each box contains 10 pieces of sugar-free, peppermint-flavored gum with 15mg of CBD. Additional ingredients include xylitol, wild peppermint and mint essential oils, and sunflower lecithin.

Not only is their gum organic and sugar-free, it’s also biodegradable! Unlike synthetic chewing gum, which doesn’t break down, this 100% biodegradable gum is environmentally-friendly, and even safe to swallow.

Since Endoca’s CBD chewing gum is made from natural, biodegradable ingredients, it feels a bit gummier to chew, and the flavor will fade faster than with conventional gum.

Product Selection

Endoca’s managed to offer a varied selection of traditional and innovative products, while finding ways to keep things simple. For example, their products are available in one of two strengths: a “medium” 300mg or “strong” 1500mg. This makes it easier for the uninitiated             to quickly identify a more suitable concentration for their needs.

Having said that, it can be confusing to distinguish between the benefits of the RAW products vs. the traditional CBD oils, especially for those who are brand new to using CBD. Both formulas are described with equally compelling marketing language that touts their benefits. As a result, less experienced users may not be able to tell that while the RAW products are worthy health food supplements on their own, they may provide less therapeutic relief than the CBD-only versions.

As a wellness-focused brand, Endoca’s product selection is missing some of the CBD products that often veer away from natural ingredients, like CBD gummies (which typically include added sugar or artificial flavoring).

Source

All Endoca products are organic, from their non-GMO Denmark hemp to the added ingredients.

It’s common for companies to list the ingredients in their products. Endoca goes beyond that by detailing the specific plant materials present in each of their tinctures, including the cannabinoids, terpenes, and natural molecules.

Potency

Endoca offers CBD tinctures and capsules in two main strengths: a lower 300mg and a higher 1500mg. More experienced users of CBD can achieve stronger, more precise doses by using their highly-concentrated products, like the paste extracts or crystals.

Endoca makes much ado about their reliance on rigorous in-house and third-party testing, and the company does make the lab reports available on their website. However, the reports they share appear to be from the in-house lab, which feels less transparent than seeing the same report from a third-party lab.

The Lab Reports page on the website features a drop-down menu where you can select the report for your specific batch (which will be noted on your product label).

Taste

With the exception of their CBD chewing gum, Endoca’s CBD products don’t contain added flavoring or sweeteners. As such, they’re best for those who don’t mind the natural taste of hemp.

Since their CBD paste extracts undergo less processing, they likely contain chlorophyll. This natural plant material lends them a more bitter, earthy taste.

Ordering and Shipping Process

Endoca ships worldwide. Their Shipping page lists the standard and express shipping rates for every country in the world they ship to.

Orders over $100 (or the equivalent in your country’s currency) ship free. ShipRush is the shipping provider for U.S. orders, with overnight ($35), 2-day ($22), 3-day ($12), and 3-5 day ($7) options available.

One feature we love about the Endoca website is that each product page tells you the specific day you can expect your order to arrive. To ensure these shipping rates are accurate, just make sure your country is selected from the drop-down menu at the top of the website.

Customer Service

The Endoca customer service team is available via phone, email, and live chat (with separate contacts for American vs. European customers). Customer service hours are not listed on the website.

Endoca has a shorter, 14-day return policy. As long as it’s unopened, you can return your product for a full refund, less the cost of return shipping. Refunds are processed within 14 days.

Endoca also hosts a customer rewards program, giving customers 1 point for every $1 they spend on the website. Customers can also earn rewards for referring friends and creating an account. Rewards points can be redeemed for any product. Points expire within 1 year.

Value

Endoca’s products are not the cheapest CBD oils around, but they are quite affordable, at $0.07 to $0.10 per mg. Moreover, that price range stays fairly consistent across their product line (with the exception of their lip balms, which claim the highest cost per mg).

In a show of transparency, Endoca offers a CBD calculator on their website. The pricing for CBD varies across the industry, and it’s often difficult to know whether what you’re buying is worth the cost. At CBD Awareness Project, we perform these calculations for you, sharing the cost per mg for all of the brands we review. Nevertheless, we appreciate Endoca’s transparency here, inviting you to plug in a few numbers and press “calculate” to determine whether you might find a better deal at another brand.

Beyond the usual payment options (Visa, Mastercard, etc.), Endoca also allows you to finance your purchase, with no interest, via Viabill. However, it’s worth noting that they use an international payment provider, so it’s possible your order may be subject to a foreign transaction fee.

While Endoca’s products are already on the lower end, price-wise, the company runs regular promotions to make them more affordable. For instance, at the time of writing, they were offering a 3-for-2 deal sitewide, where if you purchased three items, you only paid the cost for two, essentially giving you the third one for free.

Endoca also sells a few product bundles, such as their Starter Pack and Complete Wellbeing Pack (available in medium and high strengths). These enable you to purchase three products together for a total price that’s about 10% lower than if you purchased them separately.
